Touch Screen Not Functioning
- run device manager and see if there is an HDI-compliant touch screen listed
no – USB cable from touchscreen is not connected or touchscreen device is not operational
You can try moving the touchscreen USB cable to a different USB port and then see if it shows up as an HID-compliant toucscreen
yes - the system is recognizing the touchscreen at the hardware level
If the touchscreen is still not responding, it may require a driver or calibration
Drivers
Most ELOs do not require a driver, but you will want to install one if not installed because you’ll want to configure the display for single-touch mode which will prevent pinch zoom
Many of the newer TSI overlays do not require drivers for the touch to work, but again, you still want to install the drivers to disable multipoint touch to prevent pinch-zooming.
Older overlays from TSI may require different drivers such as IDS Pulse OR PQLabs.
You may need to download and install different drivers until the touchscreen is recognized.
Calibration
It is also possible that the touchscreen may require calibration. The correct drivers and software will have to be installed to conduct calibration. The remote support agent can launch the software and start the calibration program, but the calibration cannot be conducted remotely. Someone who is at the display need to touch the screen at the calibration points.
