Setting the Date, Time & Time Zone on the media player

Overview

In some cases, you may find that the Time OR both Date and Time is incorrect in your Directory or Signage application. If the minutes in the time are correct, but the hour is wrong, this is typically caused by an incorrect Time Zone setting. If you find that the Time or Date and Time are just incorrect, that’s usually a result of the media player being disconnected from the Internet for a period of time. This is because the media player is configured to sync with a Time Server which requires an Internet connection to keep the time accurate. These instructions will assist you in setting the correct Date and Time settings.

What You'll Need to Do First

Once your keyboard is connected to the media player, you'll need to first break out of the directory using the ALT + F4 key combination. This will close the Directory or Sign and put you at a Windows Desktop. Then you'll be ready for the instructions below.

Windows 11 — Setting Date, Time & Time Zone

Follow these steps to set the date, time, and time zone on a media player running Windows 11.

  1. Right-click on the date and time display in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar and select Adjust date and time.
  2. The Date & Time settings page will open. If Set time automatically is toggled on and the time displayed is correct, no further changes to the time are needed. If the time is incorrect or you prefer to set it manually, toggle Set time automatically to Off.

  4. To set the time zone, scroll down to the Time zone section. Click the dropdown and select the correct time zone for your location.
  5. If Adjust for daylight saving time automatically is available and shown beneath the time zone selector, ensure this toggle is turned On if daylight saving time applies in your region.
