SAMSUNG MONITOR — DISPLAY TROUBLESHOOTING "No Signal Detected" OR "Connect External Device to HDMI" |
What This Message Means
Your Samsung monitor is powered on and working correctly, but it cannot detect a signal from the connected device. This is most commonly caused by the monitor being set to the wrong input source.

What it means | Monitor is on but not receiving a video signal |
Most common cause | Input source set incorrectly on the monitor |
Time to fix | Under 2 minutes |
Step-by-Step Fix — Check Input Source
1 | Press SOURCE button | Find the SOURCE or INPUT button on the monitor — usually on the side or bottom edge. Press it once. |
2 | Navigate to correct input | Use the arrow buttons or press SOURCE repeatedly to cycle through inputs: HDMI 1 → HDMI 2 → DisplayPort → etc. |
3 | Select the HDMI port | Choose the HDMI input that matches the cable plugged into the back of the monitor. Press OK or SELECT to confirm. |
4 | Check for picture | The blue screen should disappear and your directory content should appear within a few seconds. |
5 | No picture still? | Check that the HDMI cable is firmly seated at both ends — monitor and device. Try unplugging and re-inserting. |
Still Not Working?
HDMI cable damaged | Try a different HDMI cable if available |
Monitor frozen | Power the monitor off, wait 10 seconds, power back on |
Device not responding | Restart the connected device (player or computer) |
Need further help | Contact your EDC support representative |
Note: If the monitor menu does not respond to button presses, the monitor may need to be power cycled. Unplug the monitor's power cord from the wall, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in.
