Symptom: Time on customer media player showing incorrect time even though time zone is correct on media player.
In the case of ticket 1159, we had previously fixed an incorrect time issue for them because Arizona is Mountain Time (UTC -7:00) and their media players were set to Pacific Time (UTC -8:00).
This resolved their issue until the Daylight Savings Time change occurred on Sunday, March 9th. Their media players then were displaying a time that was one hour ahead of the actual time in Arizona.
We determined that the current time in Arizona was 2 hours behind us in Illinois (even though mountain time is typically thought of as being 1 hour behind us).
After a little research, we discovered that Arizona had opted out of adhering to Daylight Savings Time in 1967. So, even though they are in the Mountain Time time zone, their clocks don't change when Daylight Savings Time changes occur.
In order to make the media player account for this properly, we disabled the Daylight Savings Time option in the Windows time zone settings.
